Spotlight Ovations presents “Character Ovations ”

 

This program will focus on the Elements of Positive "ACT"ion by teaching valuable character traits. “Character Ovations ” merges character education and the performing arts through playwriting.

Classes will choose one of the Elements of Positive "ACT"ion and develop a short play based on the chosen character trait. After the play is written the class will be broken down into three groups: set design, costume design, and performance. On the final week the classes will culminate in the“Character Ovations ” showcase.

The “Character Ovations ” program meets for one hour a week for a total of 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the school's request. This program is recommended for all grades. These valuable tools will benefit the entire school. Through performance students are reminded how to apply the skills learned in the character education program to real life situations during this important developmental time in their lives.
